Hilpert Raphael (Riehen)

Stone sculptors (Latin: statuarius or sculptor) produce sculptural natural stone work. Unlike stonemasons, their work is more creative and less geometric, i.e., not profile work or structural work, such as stairs or kitchen countertops. The stone sculptor can work creatively, as well as transform given sculptures into stone.

Raphael Hilpert has been working as a stone sculptor in Basel and the surrounding area since 2002. After passing his final apprenticeship as a stone sculptor, Raphael Hilpert opened as a young entrepreneur his own stone sculptor studio at Hörnliallee 75 in Riehen, Basel. Equipped with a mobile workplace, Raphael Hilpert also does sculpture work and lettering in various cemeteries on site.
