We are a member of the SVB and Oscar Gerber holds the federal certificate of proficiency. For 4 generations, the Gerber family has been involved in the funeral business in Olten and the surrounding area with expertise and prudence. Today Jenny Gerber and her husband Oscar Gerber are jointly responsible for the family-owned company Allgemeine Bestattungsdienste Gerber AG. In the event of a death at home, inform your family doctor as soon as possible. If he or she is not available, notify the emergency doctor. If you urgently require further official assistance, notify the police (tel. no. 117). After the death of the deceased person has been ascertained, a death certificate is issued to the relatives, which is indispensable for dealing with the authorities but also with the funeral home. The doctor or the management of a clinic, home or institution in whose premises the death occurred is obliged to report the death to the Civil Registry Office. Otherwise, deaths of family members must be reported in writing or in person within 2 days.

To simplify the necessary formalities, please have at least the death certificate and the family record book (in the case of married couples), and possibly the residence or settlement permit ready.
**Remember... inform other relatives, friends, employer, AHV office and possibly landlord about the death. For all other questions and tasks in case of death (inheritance office, insurances, etc.) we are at your disposal with advice and support. We are here to help you at any time.
