Burial, a question of personality.

Earth burial

For the burial of the coffin you can choose between different types of graves: the earth row grave with free right of use of 20 years or the family grave with paid right of use of 40 years. You can take care of the grave yourself or leave it to the cemetery administration.

Chrine burial

After cremation of the coffin, you can choose from a variety of burial options for the urn. Cemeteries offer free graves such as the urn row and communal graves, as well as fee-based graves such as the urn niche or the meadow, urn family and tree graves. In addition to a variety of alternative burial options outside the cemetery, you also have the option of taking the urn home with you.

Rhine burial

Rhine burial is a wonderful burial option for Basel residents and Rhine lovers. On one of four Rhine ferries, after a small farewell ceremony, the urn of the deceased is buried in silence or in the presence of the relatives. If desired, the ceremony can be accompanied by music and a solemn speech by the captain. Of course, we also offer burial in other rivers and lakes. Just contact us!

Air burial

To fly once and be gently scattered to the four winds - for many people a beautiful idea, which we at Bestattungen Hans Heinis make come true. Thus, the scattering of ashes from a small airplane, flown by Cyrill Thoma himself, is a popular service offered by our company. Of course, we can also arrange other airplane burials or a balloon burial. We will be happy to advise you.

**Forest burial

For many people, the forest is not only an idyllic place of rest during their lifetime - burial in so-called burial forests is also becoming increasingly popular. In this nature-loving forest burial, the ashes are interred at the foot of a magnificent tree. Over time, the tree absorbs the ashes through its roots and the deceased is thus reintroduced into the cycle of life. We are also happy to offer you the private forest of Bestattungen Hans Heinis as a resting place. You are cordially invited to a guided tour on site!
